I'm Jordan!

I have a few favourite things that are quintessentially "me".  Star Wars.  Lord of the Rings.  Orchestral Music.  Recently K-pop (ARMY) and learning Korean.  The colour purple.  Coffee.  Chocolate.  Cats.  I think I'm basically a "crazy cat lady" starter package.

I'm a wife to my husband of almost 13 years, Ian, who is an amazing jazz guitarist, video game nerd like me, and my best friend.  We have 3 kiddos - Evelyn (11), Jacob (7), and Joey (2).  Also two small dogs, Benny and Elsie, and a cat, Lucy.  It's a loud crazy house, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  

The name "Special Stitches" was very deliberate and multi-fold.  But the real meaning behind it came from Psalm 139:13-14 - 

"For You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

I have always loved this verse and the reminder that the Lord had me fully figured out, even before I was born.  In my head I sometimes change up the wording to "you stitched me together..." which is what inspired the latter half of my name.  And then there comes the Special part.  Special for special needs; for the positively uniqueness that each child has in their complexities; and for the time and care I put into each button cover or carrier - making each one unique as well. 

Special.  Cherished.  Treasured.
